Hello,

a bit about me:

How to take 360-degree photos on iPhone?

The 360-degree photos are the most in trend nowadays and are more popular on Facebook.

Facebook is the first and foremost social media to support 360 camera apps for iPhone 360 degree photos and it is a more advanced view and gives more immersive experience than the regular photos.

With your regular picture, you would be able to view only one angle, but with the 360 degree photos, you can get a clear view of the surrounding environment too. You can view the 360 degree pictures by dragging the picture either with your finger or by the cursor or with the smartphone’s built-in gyroscope.

And for taking this 360 degree photos, you do not require any special equipment, you can do it through any of your iPhone camera and with the iPads.

Taking 360-degree photos on iPhone with the Built-in Camera App

With the latest iPhone models, you can take 360 degree photos easily through the Panorama mode. And the quality might not be as high enough when compared to the photos taken with the dedicated 360 degree camera but still, the quality would be good enough and gets you an immersive experience.

With the IOS camera App, you can only take photos by moving right and left that is you can move and take pictures horizontally but you can't do that for vertically you won't be able to move up and down and this is not supported with this app. And also you would be able to take only 360 degree photos and not videos.

On more concern in taking 360 degree photo would be the actual width you take. Because the Facebook recognizes that it is a 360 degree photo only if it is bounded to a certain width and of-course it would be hard to set or determine the exact width when you take the photo. But for that purpose, you can capture the picture until that ends automatically. Thus it would create the complete 360 degree picture width that is required for Facebook.

Sharing the 360 degree photo

Once after you are done with taking the picture. Open the Facebook App and tap to post a photo then search for your photo library and select the panorama. This will turn as the 360 degree photo on your Facebook with the spherical icon at the left bottom corner of the thumbnail.

Then follow the on-screen instructions for posting. Here you can preview the picture before you actually post it and finally you also can add a caption and share your 360 degree picture for public view.

Just in case if the Facebook doesn’t recognize your picture as a 360 degree picture though it does have the spherical icon on the thumbnail, simply discard your drafted post and try again, it certainly works most of the times.

The above discussed is only for taking a photo and you also have an option to take videos with certain hardware and apps that are supported by iPhone models.
